Sealorsaura

The Sealorsaura, or more commonly known as Sealors, are a species of large aquatic mammals. They are part of the genus Cete Dentatis, meaning Whale Toothed, referring to their teeth which are very similar to those of orcas on earth. Their skin is very smooth and they are built to be very streamlined so they can swim quickly. They use this speed and agility to catch fish and mammals when hunting. They are upwards of 50’ long and can weigh up to 60,000 lbs. Sealors are feared throughout the northern hemisphere of Solino, and are popular targets for trophy hunting, because of their speed and strength. They are endangered, but their populations are slowly returning due to new laws on hunting wild animals in Solino. Another reason they are endangered is that they only have one baby per year at max, and there are currently only 5,000 reported Sealors in the wild as of a news report from August 2151. They prefer to live in the polar regions of Solino, but they are known to come all the way down to the equator. They are easily recognizable by their large spine and black and white coloring, and if people see one they are encouraged to contact the coast guard so they can be relocated. Sealors are very curious creatures and will play with their prey before they eat them. They are solitary animals for the most part but they will group together occasionally to take down larger prey, such as Ocean Demons. It is not known how old Sealors live, but they are assumed to live around 120 years in the wild and only 50 years in captivity. According to Page 3 of section 12 in the Index of Captive Animals in Solino (ICAS), it is punishable by upwards of penalties of $5,000 to own a captive Sealor. The main reason why is that there have been multiple incidents of Sealors who have killed people who fell in their containment. The traditional name of the Sealors are the Kwojos, but they were later renamed by the scientists of the earth who named them in a similar manner to that of dinosaurs. They are officially classified in the Mammalia Order, but they have very similar characteristics to reptiles, such as their bone structure, and the fact they lay eggs. Their large spines are speculated to be used to absorb heat on cold days. It isn’t known what their intelligence level is, but considering they are smart enough to perform group hunts and work together to escape captivity, they are thought to be at least as intelligent as dolphins. They are covered in a thick layer of blubber used for both buoyancy and insulation. Sealor meat is said to be tough and bitter, and some people believe it has some medicinal properties.
